Susat scope for WE L85
Hello, i have a question about the WE L85. I have been debating on buying a susat scope, is it worth geting, will it increase my acurracy, and make the rifle easyer to aim, pro's and con's ladys and gentlemen please.

The SUSAT Huang had was nice and crisp - It was extremely heavy though. Ironsights are a little too small to be useful, but ACOGs and Elcan Specters are also possibilities nowadays. Keep in mind that rail on the L85 isn't a 1913 rail... it was created years before that standard so you will need an adapter if you plan on using anything but a SUSAT.
I run a Specter OS 4x on a friend's L96 and my old C8A3 paintball gun... accuracy and target acquisition increased signifigantly at range, though I lost an extreme level of CQB capability. Sight also added a lot to the heft of the weapon. Ultimately, it's up to you and your style of play. |

I have a susat on my ics l85, and would definitely recommend it. It is definitely heavy tho.

Visible here is the Elcan SpecterOS4x (Not the 1x-4x) that has been chosen to replace the SUSAT:

Make sure you get a susat or elcan that is shock resistant. If you cheap out on a non-shock resistant one, the shock from the WE L85 will destroy the electronics of it.

No, only an autoaim hack will do this. Or magic. Black magic.

It won't increase your accuracy if you don't have a good foundation in basic marksmanship skills. Interestingly, there's a bit of a debate about training CF recruits on rifles with ELCANs, as some feel it can mask deficiencies in shooting skills that would show up on ironsights. Around the beginning of the month I forced myself to shoot using irons to relearn some of the basic skills I had lost over the years, and was rewarded with much tighter groupings when I returned to an optic. My roommate looked at me like I was stupid when he saw me mount irons to a L96, but he's damn impressed.
Again, your mileage will vary, and you may find it doesn't even fit your style of play. |
