A rule of thumb with night-vision is don't buy any bellow $600 or you will be better off using your own eyes.

anything better you are running at least 500$ 700 if you want weapon mountable. yukon is by far one of the best |

if it isnt gen3, youre wasting your money. 700-2000 starting prices.

I have Gen1 NVGs (mono type) and Gen3 ( bino type), Gen1 is only good if your the only one on the field with NVGs. Gen3 is for owning the night, and emptying your wallet but well worth it.

i have a set of gen2+ awesome unit, but cost close to 2000$. I can see along way and notice people in the bush from a good distance out without any IR illuminators and a semi clear sky out. so id say anything from gen 2/2+ and up is worth every penny, or every thousand dollars =P haha

get gen 1 and an infrared illuminator. will perform good enough for your need.

Yes i agree but he says 300$. cant find anything that is stealth and have good quality a that price. I don't think he will spend 1k(minimum) for nvg so Gen 1 is the only option....or wait to have a good job and buy real gen 3.

Hell at $300 a Vietnam era cascade starlight scope (around gen 2 performance) is out of reach. $600 and a passive night vision device |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

Yukon gen1 with head mount is about $400, maybe a little more. Luckily, it's the only gen1 worth getting. |

all Yukon tubes are gen1, not gen1+
And I was referring to the monocular with headmount |

In all seriousness, I think there's a way you can rig up your own NVGs with a camcorder eyepiece. I can't attest to its effectiveness, but it's defined cheaper.
