Paintball Mask

I am looking to purchase a mask and was wondering if any of you used or have comments on the jt spectra flex 8 full head coverage?

It has great reviews for paintball, what about for airsoft?

If you really want a mask for airsoft, don't buy a paintball mask, buy an airsoft mask I suggest you a mask like this one: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/media/cat...g_1_mark_1.jpg. It's much cooler than a conventional paintball mask and you hear better.

No... dont ever do that, Most fields require Paintball approved goggles ONLY, Airsoft goggles usually dont meet any security criteria and arent safe!

BTW: you dont need a full head mask for airsoft... even for paintball, that would be a bit overkill, and not comfortable at all!

If I were you, I would get the JT Spectra goggles/mask with thermal lens! they are one of the best/most comfortable masks/goggles out there!

I second this, JT masks in General are really good. The Flex 8 has the ability to witch out the faceguard for different colors or camouflages or if you just wanna use the goggles alone. They don't imper your hearing at all, ragnagna just needs to clean the BB's out of his ears.

I use JT masks all the time and they are great. With the Flex 8 the entire ear and grill (the lower part of your mask) is one piece. So on hot days if you decide to go goggles only, you may be stuck without ear protection. Some people don't mind this. With the full head coverage, I find on hot days its just too much. To be honest I play a lot of paintball and airsoft, and while getting beaned every once in a while does hurt its not enough to make me want to wear full head gear. You'll get used to it.

If you're looking for an alternative you can try the JT Proflex/Spectra. Essentially the grill and ear pieces are different than the Flex 8. They come with soft ears (or hard if you go with the old school spectras) which are independent of the grill, so you have that added protection if you go goggles only.

I find overall JT thermal lenses are some of the best in the industry. I've played in 40+ weather with my JT's and never had a fogging issue. Like someone previously said just remember to change the lens every once in a while, ie when you see a crack on the lens or when the lens starts "peeling" (you'll see this on older lenses).

And like some other people have noted, you can use them everywhere as they're widely accepted paintball goggles.

great thing about these it that the bottom can either be removed if you dont want it/want another color. or they can be folded up to help you breath easier I use to use these when I was on a paintball team they are pretty great and I know quite a few guys use them on the airsoft field as well and they love them

Or what i have seen some guys do is use a pair if goggles normally taken out of a paint ball mask(because most masks are to bulky to aim down sights)then they buy a steel mesh thats tight fitting to the face and covers the mouth.

Can anybody comment on how well these fit with eyeglasses or make some recommendations on paintball goggles that do well with glasses?

The JT's are roomy enough to accommodate a pair of glasses underneath without too much crowding. If you're concerned with fitment, try a pair on at the store. Although the JT Thermal lenses won't fog, I'm not certain if the same would hold true for glasses worn underneath (I wear contacts for airsoft games).

Yeah, I just wear a pair of daily lenses. A 1-month supply will probably last 8-months at my current usage rate.

And you can pick up JTs at the Flag Raider store (co-joined with the indoor field) in Kitchener.

I got the specter in od there not to bad of a price for them andi can take everything off and just use the googles and visor or what ever you want

and those lenses can/will crack or out right shatter with guns clearing 400fps ... they are not made/rated for 'north american' play .... which is too bad cause their fans are powerful as hell .. you can feel your eyeballs drying out with the wind that's thrown through em. after testing however, I got a wicked set of fans for my JT carnivores lol

I tried to wear glasses with goggle (JT) only and whyle my mask didn't fog, my glasses sure did
