What's the diff between APS and CYMA?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anybody knows the difference between the construction of APS AK models and CYMA AK models...is there one besides materials used?

I've had CYMA AKs before and they're modeled after the Inokatsu design, just crappier build materials and finishes.

Thanks er'body!

Current Cyma models are pinned together, and are cloned from VFC. So there's no screws like in a TM. Aren't APS the blowback ones that clone the current TM recoil engine AKs?

Anyways, Cyma models just use a little hook to attach the bolt to the piston. This is a really shitty method of creating a blowback effect and should be disabled immediately.

They're not a direct clone of VFC because of their outer barrel design. DBoys/Kalash are the only ones that copy VFC correctly. CYMAs are copies of the Inokatsu design, which Guarder, Classic Army and now G&G have copied.

I have no idea if the APS AKs are a copy of the TM blowback design, hence why I'm asking.

Sorry to jack the thread, but what's different about the CYMA barrels?

Here's another review that says APS is shit http://www.red-alliance.net/forum/in...?topic=17071.0

No worries man, you didn't jack anything.

I'm well aware that APS are dog doodie, but I wanted to know about the construction because I wanted to know if I could rip out the guts and put a gas kit in it.

CYMA barrels are different because they have 2 tangs that run beside the hop up unit. VFC and DBoys/Kalash barrel don't. They don't even run past the rear sight block into the receiver, whereas CYMA does.

Not true, most CYMA AK's are TM clones, not DBoys/VFC clones.

Everything after ~CM040 is pinned, no screws.

So most are, but they've switched over to pinned style receivers now, and future AK releases will be as well.

Pricier than G&G?! Where are seeing full metal G&Gs for less than 450$? Sure those stupid smoked receiver ones are cheaper, but I've never seen a BNIB G&G full metal for less than an APS.

hahaha Love that quote. Guess I won't even bother seeing if I can fit a gas kit in one of them.

I am curious as to were you found that information. I have opened all of the above except real sword, and if they are made in the same factory, the difference between the 3 are huge. APS is absolute garbage internally, and externally its nothing special. Although cybergun is cheap, for a cheap gun they are decent.
