Custom rifle cases
I am wanting to purchase a new Pelican case to accommodate my M4 carbine and M4 CQB. I also intend to house 10 mags 2 optics (Elcan and Eotech 551) and my 226 pistol and mags. Obviously I am going to need a large case.
I am interested to see how some of you people have laid out your cases with various accessories or multiple rifles. Post up your pictures and comments or ideas on how best to achieve a nice package.

Pelican cases were to hard to find for me, so went to local LeBaron shop, and got this....
Plano GunGuard All-Weather tactical gun case (130$) And since gbbr mags smell, and are heavy, (and since you shouldnt store mags and gun together) I bought an ammo can to put them it! (plus all the other tools, bbs, oil... I need to bring for an event!) Heavy Duty locks: Also, unlike Pelican case which require custom laser foam cutting, the Plano one had "pick-n-pluck" foam! PS: my gbbr loves it... :P |

Hardigg storm m3100 (My son has a m3200, not cut yet though). This was cut for my 2x ar15, nothing's in it but you get the point

wow...both very nice. Not sure how available the Plano cases are in my area...but definitely going to check it out.
My interest for gun case with guns and mags is for travel to US. TSA/ATFE takes unkindly to trying to transport mags in luggage....makes for major delays.....lol Nice cases guys...has me inspired....

Personally, I use a Guardforce Breakdown Shotgun case. It fits my M4 and 226 as well as an ACOG with plenty more room. I carry my mags in a couple of those cheap MasterLock cash boxes, each one holds about 8 USGI mags and has a functioning key lock.
I will be getting a Pelican 1700 once I get my GBBR and another once I get my PTW. Quote:

Not mine, but here are some from the net (some of these are SEAL cases).

I just purchased a SKB case. It has the same features (3 handles, wheels, 4 latches and 4 holes for locks and guaranteed for life) as Pelican 1500 except the SKB is deep enough to fit 2 layers of rifles. Cost is $200 all in from the states. Downside is it does not have that pick n pluck foam in the Plano.

Allows you to fit a full sized M4 in a CQB case.

there are a couple other threads on cases currently in discussion on here with a link to a post on AR15.com with instructions on how to build your own hot-wire cutter. You could probably get some foam from any nearby upholstery stores.

Just out of curiosity, for anyone that has a WE M4, is it possible to store it in a case broken down into upper and lower receiver like how the cutouts on UrbanSniper's case is?

If you get a Pelican case, any Pelican dealer can get you replacement foam. I use the 1700 cases for my M4's and PTS ACR. I just swap out the foam for the different guns.
A word of caution about traveling with gun cases. Make sure your case is 62 linear inches or less (length x width x height.) Otherwise it is in the oversize category and is subject to an additional baggage fee of $100 USD to $200 USD, for each bag, each way on the flight. For example, the Pelican 1700 is under 62 inches so no fee. The Pelican 1720 is over 62 inches and will cost you at least $200 USD on a round trip flight. Pelican has a nice chart for you to use: http://www.pelican.com/airline_allowance.php |
