G&G Max - VS. - ICS M4
hello ,well im looking at buying a full metal m4 CQBR. ive been looking at buying the ics version (i had a consoft ics i just sold) and really like ics. ive already bought a bunch of Magpul stuff for the new gun (i know it DOES work on ics), and now that the new G&G Max have come out i dont know what to go for:
G&G Max: Detuned to 380FPS Full Metal 1 piece mech box aluminum piston tm compatible ASCU Available Cheaper ICS 330FPS - will require more money to upgrade later Full Metal 2 piece mech box ICS Specific (not terible i guess) ASCU coming soon Expensive DONT FLAME ME!! I HAVE GOOGLED/YOUTUBE'd!! im asking mainly for a COMPARISON of the 2 guns, for both performance, and durability. i NEED this gun to be 110% solid with NO wobles, and i know that the ICS fits this description. so... anyone got any recomendations? finished result wanted: ASCU 6.01 short m4 full metal/polymer gun to be able to take a beating 380~ FPS systema carbon fiber gears iron sights magpul? 11.1/7.4v lipo (high rof) but mainly a very accurate/consistant gun in a small package okay that probably seemed like a jumble of words ^ lol |

G&G will be better -- they use mostly TM compatible internals.
ICS has quite a bit of proprietary stuff. |

Ya man, I picked up an ICS and trying to find compatible parts is like trying to find an innocent guy in jail.

I play with a guy who own a G&G M16 max every Friday, and I got say, it's one of those gun where you turn you back on but then it bites you in the buttocks.
I own an ICS M16, to be honest, it's not as good as the G&G max, but I get by. We're both in very different play style. I toss in quite a bit upgrade for the ICS, and compatibility within gearbox is like every other gun, except the anti-reversal latch. Also, I couldn't get a CA Trigger assembly to replace the ICS one because my burn out after a day playing in the rain... In the end, I just took both the trigger assembly apart and just switch out the metal/wire parts, fits like a charm. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. I like the ability to switch fps within seconds, but don't like the external compatibility of ICS guns. I like the metal body of G&G Max and their pre-upgraded internal. Just my thought. |

thanks for the comments!!
well to be honest im still leaning toward the ICS. as far as being prepriatory, im not to concerned, as im a former ICS owner. as far as internals go id be ding somthing like: systema gears (carbon fiber?) new upper gearbox, with m110 PDI 6.01mm ive got 7.4v 22c 1900mah lipo, but might go for 11.1 ASCU as far as the externals, Magpul XTM Rail covers, PTS foregrip, PTS CTR stock, and PTS MBUS sights - which DO fit ICS :P (arleady pre-tested) if i went G&G im kinda scared of the one piece mech box :S dont know why, but im worried as far as maintenance, upgrades. the name ICS seems "High end" to me compared to G&G... idk.. how are they as far as integrity, and reliability?? HELP!! |

ICS are good airsoft rifle and are quite reliable.
Had one for 3 years with no problems at all. External parts need some work but fit in the end. Just sold one because i wanted to go the gbbr way. Didn't play with it except plinking but the qualitity was on par with my old one. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=110501 Hope this help make your decision. I list the upgrade i made to it.

If it's glued on, use a hairdryer to melt off the glue. Or check for a grub screw.
