Going to hit up a surplus while i'm there. What should i grab? I was thinking of picking up some decent Tac boots for the winter and some rare to fine BDU's... Any suggestions? Anything? Anybody?

Find a range and blast some lead from a gun you can't shoot in Canada.

I doubt you will much of the "rare" stuff there that you can't find on e-Bay. The cool stuff is also the stuff you can't bring pack to Canada.

There is a big surplus store west on Sahara. But, to be honest, spend your $$$ shooting some guns, and the rest on entertainment.

If you want close-to-the-strip gun stuff, try Citadel Gun and Safe (west of I-215 behind Caesar's Palace), The Gun Store (west on Tropicana) and American Shooter (on Arville north of The Palms) for the cool guns and rare accessories.

I've been both The Gun Store (a few times) and the Las Vegas Gun Range. If you're possibly looking to shoot some suppressed weapons, head to http://www.lasvegasgunrange.net/RangeRentals.aspx

Firing off a USP Tactical with Suppressor is fun! They also have the Desert Eagle in .50AE instead of the .44

I spent a few hundred bucks @ The Gun Store ($20 cab ride each way from the Strip) this summer. The AK is awesomesauce, but for fun factor on a budget, shoot the MP5. Check ahead and see if they will let you bring your own lead-free factory ammo, that will save you a BUNCH of cash.

You can also get an out-of-state concealed carry permit if you have the cash resources and the time to take the course....it's at the top of my list on my next trip back there. It runs every Saturday 9 am to 6 pm, and once you do the course it's $100 and a background check to get your CCW.

On my to-do list this winter is get my Arizona CCW. I might be tempted to get a .45 and store it there.

I went to Discount Firearms (about a 20min walk from the Venetian behind the Fashion Mall) just for the range, they didn't have much in the way of store stock on items we could bring through the boarder. I was looking for a real Blackhawk serpa holster for my Glock17, they mostly had Beretta M92 ones. But I did get to fondle a bunch of guns. They had this S&W pee shooter, I can't remember what model. Could easily fit into one's pants pocket while remaining concealed, a private security worker bought it up. Problem is that for some reason S&W didn't ship them with mags.

EDIT: Ah, found it. They were apparently selling like hot cakes, DF got like 5 in and gone in less then 2 weeks.

Citadel Gun and Safe used to have tons of BH gear. I bought some rare items there that were unavailable in Canada.
