I know soft armor is all fine, but what about plates? Same thing I would assume but didn't know for sure enough to state as such.

You mostly have to be worried about export restrictions from the states, methinks.

Correct. A lot of stuff is export-restricted from the US side, and not from the Canadian side. We're allowed to buy and import the stuff, but the US companies aren't allowed to export it. It's the same reason EOTech sights and such are so damn hard to get outside the US.

That's what I'd found when I did all my research about getting soft armor, but I never did look into plates. Just thought if someone was able to give a definite answer here before I spout wrong intel and someone starts pointing fingers while crying through bars trying to hide from some 6ft 4 sum bitch named Bubba.

Also keep in mind that it's retailers that usually can't export armor, but armor does get exported; it's a restriction, not a prohibition, meaning that DoC approval is needed.
There's armor (soft armor packs as well as plates, upto NIJ level IV) available in Canada, including Canadian products. So like airsoft, buy Canadian

I ordered 4 CIRASs with simulated armour from HK 2 years ago. They had a stop over in Iowa (I think) at the UPS sorting plant. They were quickly deemed to 1337 for my canadian ass and I got a letter from Homeland Fuckery stating that due to export restrictions UPS wouldn't be sending me my armour. I never got the vests.
In my experience you are ok if the armour is not coming from the US pretty much |

CIRAS is patented by Eagle

Armor is NOT illegal to own/buy/cell in canada.
There are some export limitations in the US and maybe in canada, like for the NVGs, but it still legal to buy/cell. It's even legal to wear around as a fashionable clothing, like we saw in Montréal last year. The catch is, if you get cought in criminal activity wearing body armor, they extrapolate your intentions and the shit you'r in automaticly get more sticky and stinky.
