is it illegal to import any type of body armor?
i'm planning to buy a US issued ACH/MICh helmet

I think kevlar helmets are prohibited items, same as body armour.

In short no. I imported 3 MICH, 4 PASGT, 1 LWh and never had problem

Hmmm everytime I see kevlar helmets they say they do not ship outside the US.
Where are you getting them from? I want to get a real PASGT helmet, and thought I couldn't so that is good news.

Perhaps its illegal to export out Stateside, but that was not the question. Importation of any soft armor should be fine. I think plates run into an issue but I'm not sure there.

Amour is NOT illegal to Import into Canada. If you have a seller willing to ship it here your fine.

It absolutely is not.

However most armor is EXPORT RESTRICTED from the US by the DoC. That's why stores won't ship outside of the US. Most individuals usually don't mind.

Oh I thought soft armor was prohibited though. Nice to know, I know my next upgrade on my IBAs :D
