Recommended radio frequencies

Greets,

Just got a bunch of YAESU FT-60Rs for work and play, so far very impressed with the build and options.

While I'm perusing the manual, would one of you kind gents point me to some frequencies you usually use? I'm new to this and so far I'm guetting a lot of static.

I'm near Montreal if it helps.

Thanks in advance!

Yup, use the FRS and GMRS channels. Everyone uses those since the bubble package radios (those ones usually sold in sets) are set to FRS and GMRS freqs.

I did two sets for mine (PX777+, similar to your Yaesu), one full set on low power and another on full power.

I've rarely had to switch to high power (but I am using an aftermarket whip antenna)
