ACU Helmet cover troubles.

Alright, So I got a whole load of ACU stuff last saturday. Just having a bit of an issue with my helmet and cover.

The Cover is the real thing, has the IR tabs and stuff. But, instead of a cord running through the rim of the helmet, it has Velcro straps along the inside which you can roll up.

Now, the problem is, there is no room for these velcro straps, the helmet I have is a PASGT replica and has a permanant inner lining, which is padded. Leaving absolutely no room for the velcro straps and stuff.

Should I just buy a new helmet or is there some trick to getting this thing on?

Yes, you will want to get yourself a MICH replica. The helmet you have doesn't like helmet covers because of the particular style of liner. The MICH helmet is smaller too and will make things way easier down the road.

nope, its not goin to work. that helmet cover is only for ACH/ MICH

What kind of PASGT replica you got? The one with the stirofoam inner, or the one that is a plastic shell with padding?

If you got the stirofoam, you can remove it from the outer plastic shell. That way, you can probably stock the velcro tabs in between the stirofoam and the plastic shell. That's what I did back when I had one.

If you have the one that is only a plastic shell with padding, you can probably just buy the sticky velcro and glue it where apropriate.

OR instead of doing all that work and having a good helmet cover on a crappy pasgt, you could buy a sexy MICH replica which is super comfy and 3x thicker than the cheapo pasgt shells

A real one beat any replica of a Mich.
