Kjw M700 Takedown Model

I have the new version of the Kjw M700 Takedown model and like many i experience shots to the left. Ive heard about free floating the barrel but ive looked around on this forum and other but no-one seems to have done this to the takedown version yet. I may have found another method to fix this for the takedown model only, not sure if it was the smartest idea though. Remove the front screw on the rail unit, there are three flat heads remove the one closest the front of the gun, and since the hop up is not under there like on the full version the rail will be able to go slightly left and make scopes line up and fire straight. because of the movement of the rail im not sure its the smartest thing to keep permanently.
Is free floating the barrel possible for the takedown version and does anyone have any other good mods for the take down version to increase accuracy and range. I heard it takes VSR type hop-ups. Lastly what do users of this gun find the best bb weight to use, i currently use .28 tsd's
