No, in Canada there's no government regulation regarding airsoft safety (or even paintball, as far as i know); rules are set by the fields, which generally go by their insurance (for paintball fields, anyway; which is why some fields only allow paintball goggles despite some tactical goggles being superior in terms of ballistic resistance).

Most fields (if not all) in Canada don't require full masks, and many events allow either paintball or tactical goggles, or ballistic glasses (such as the ESS ICE eye shields etc).

Out of curiosity, what kind of FPS limits do you have in Denmark? Here it's generally around 400 FPS for AEGs (~350 FPS in CQB), using .2g BBs. So hits have much less energy than any paintball; the primary concern is really eye protection. A handful of people wear masks, or partial masks, to protect their teeth. I'll sometimes use a mouthguard, if I feel the risk is present.

At least the guy is trying to protect his eyes even if he is a little cheap. I've meet underage staring at airsoft at Basspro and they say the play softair in a small town in Northern Ontario. They play without goggles or any eye protection because of a "Rule" thats says no headshots. They didn't care because they were rough necks, but I guess it'll change when one of them gets there eyes shot out.
