I go solo with a JG MP5SD6 too...

in the field too, I use it because it's so compact and easy to move around with, 90% of the kills I don't even aim lol.

You have an EG700 motor in your gun, keep it, it's better than the EG1000.

Get a custom cut 330mm inner barrel, tightbore if you like. This will give you an extra 20fps on top of what you already shoot at compared to the stock length inner barrel.

Buy a V2 bearing spring guide (brand doesn't matter, just ignore Deep Fire), this will add about 15fps.

Install metal bushings, all are equal except in price.

Buy (from Jugglez, hell, get all the parts from him, he rocks), a Modify 100 spring. I receintly installed one of these and a bearing spring guide into a stock TM AK47, get 370fps out of it consistantly.

All this added together will keep your battery life happy, not bog down your rate of fire too much, and will get you in the 380-390fps range. All other upgrades mentioned above will cost you more and net you less, and even destroy your V2 mechbox (even if a reinforced one.) I've had a LOT of variances with upgrades through both my TM MP5s (SD and A), and what I just posted is what I have in my SD, it's sitting around 390fps now and works great.
I'm planning to upgrade a TM MP5 RAS to 380+ fps also. Would I be okay to use a 110 spring instead of a 100 like you suggested? I don't want to use a silencer, so I don't want to extend the length of the barrel.

Could I achieve my goal of 380+ fps with stock barrel, 110 spring, bearing spring guide, and metal bushings? ROF isn't a huge concern for me. But I don't want to damage my gearbox or have pathetic battery life.

What's the stiffest spring I could use without damaging the gearbox?

It isn't necessarily an upgrade. EG1000 is faster and less torque. EG700 is slower but has more torque. So it depends what you want/need.

I had an EG1000 in my MP5 for about a year, then tried out my old EG700, and not only did I find an increase in the rate of fire (because of the increased torque), but also a decrease in the whininess of the motor.

id stick with the 700, im running a m120 spring, guide, all that stuff and it somehow took teeth out of one of my gears....I think thats what you wanted to hear, if your looking for capability. Mind you my gears are roughly 2 years old.

I have this gun and love the 700 motor. Fastest rate of fire on any gun I've owned. I find this gun to be extra light, which is sometimes nice for CQB or tired weaklings. I love it stock (haven't chronied in awhile) it gets the job done.

I just upgraded my TM MP5 RAS with Modify 100 spring and bearing spring guide as CDN_stalker suggested. I haven't chrono'd it yet, but I have a 1.5" sheet of insulation foam that I use as target practice. Before the upgrade a .2g bb got about 1/2" into the foam. After the upgrade they easily penetrate and break through the other side. The best part is that the ROF is the same, if not better.
