TM hicapa Short stroke mod. Which is best?

I want my hicapa to have high rof. There are 3 parts in redwolf I can buy.
Nine Ball Recoil Spring & Short Recoil Spring Set for Marui Hi-Capa 5.1
Same thing with spring only
Nine Ball Hi-Speed Recoil Spring for Marui Hi-Capa 5.1

Do I need the Recoil spring guide that comes with the nine ball set? Is it highly beneficial over the stock one?

Would the hi speed recoil spring do a better job?
and does the short stroke affect the durability of the gun?

Any model hicappa with an enhanced recoil spring running on propane I guarantee can fire faster than you can pull the trigger. There is no reason to get a short stroke kit, all they do is not lock the slide back so its not as obvious when your out of ammo.

I've tried holding my KSC G19 and three different brands of hi cappas in my left hand and pulling the trigger as fast as I can with my right hand, I still can't go faster than the guns can cycle.

As Lutnit mentioned, recoil spring and propane will show a noticeable decrease in cycle time. This is even more pronounced with a stock plastic slide. And yes, it can can cycle faster than you can squeeze the trigger...

... so focus on shortening that trigger pull, if anything. With a little shimming and fitting, you can remove all excess play and travel from the trigger. This should tighten up the cycle, and from there it's a matter of your own practice.

I will work on getting rid of the trigger overtravel and I won't look at new springs until I know I need one.

The new SD limcat slide seems like it was designed to remove slide lock function. So I'm good there.

The "hi-speed recoil spring" is essentially a stronger spring. Same idea (but not as strong/fast) as a Guarder 150% Enhanced Recoil Spring.

You don't *need* that recoil rod, but it's coated in a tough yet slick surface that reduces friction.

I stuck two fat o-rings behind a thick washer on my recoil guide rod...effectively locking out the slide lock.

Compressing the spring that extra amount doesn't do anything noticeable to the return to battery speed, which is pretty snappy anyways. Does have a nice "cushiony" feel at the end of the rearward slide travel...not the hard jarring sort of slam-back that it used to have.

Also messed around taking out any outer barrel/slide play. There used to be about 0.2-0.3mm around the whole barrel. I fixed a metal shield around the barrel and sanded to fit. Yes...I was really, really bored. Looks ghetto and won't win any pimp prizes. Works though...shoots nice tight groups. I'll clean it up to be pretty later. Highly recommend AGAINST doing this mod....it's a lot of hand fitting...but I'm a cheap bastard.

Since you are in the GTA, go to Le Baron into the gun dept and buy a small tube of GunSlick's Annhydrous Graphite lube ($1.45ea) and use it on your slide rails. I have been using that stuff for everything from GBB lube to AEG lube and even on rubber O-rings, etc. and it kicks ass! I introduced it to a few guys around here, and a couple of them found that the slide on their GBB actually cycled faster after the lube was applied.
