Jing Gong G36C Camo pr0n!
Hey All!
I finally got around to painting my G36C this weekend and it turned out very nicely. Krylon Camouflage paint really is fantastic, each coat dried super quick and provided a great matte finish.  To achieve the ragged stripes of khaki ( the light tan sort of color ) I simply tore thick strips of masking tape down the center and then stuck the 2 resulting strips back-to-back ( so the torn edges are on the outside ) then I used a combination of those masking tape strips and a couple of cut-up plastic bags to mask everything off that I didn't want to paint. The results speak for themselves I think! Next time I will use the masking tape method for all the color except for the base coat ( olive drab ).  Let me know what you think!

thats wicked. i was just thinkin of what woodland-ish camo to do cept personally i might do either shorter or thinner stripes.

Thanks guys!
I'm really looking forward to giving my WE M1911 Tactical the same treatment ( once it finally arrives! ) I think if I had done all the colors using the masking tape method the paint job would have been more effective at breaking up the shape of the gun, more distinct lines opposing the shape of the gun would really help... |

Disassemble your gun! Painting it all together means that you also paint your hardware ( screws, bolts etc ) and that paint may get into your inner mechanisms.. both of which are bad things! Apply lots of really thin coats about 20 minutes apart ( there are about 25 separate coats of paint on the gun, including all 4 colors ) Mask out the individual sections ( to form the stripes ) at random using torn strips of masking-tape. Take your time! This paint job took about 3 1/2 - 4 hours ( not including disassembly! ) Beyond that... try painting something else first. Work out your technique on a cheap toy gun and then paint yours... |

Fantastic! Normally I hate painted gun because people don't take thier time to do it so it dosen't look very good... Which is not your case.

Well that is one of the nicest G36's ive seen... awsome paint work man. That would look good with just about anything, anywhere..

I don't care much for painted guns myself, but that's a good paint job nonetheless. Good work dude. It does look good.
