silly question.....identify the hat worn....

hey...uhm...have any of you seen those 5.11 Tactical advertisments....where there are 3 guys wearing black fleece jackets...one guy is wearing a watch cap, one guy i think is wearing a ball hat, and the guy in the middle......he's wearing a cool hat I don't know the name of. Can anybody identify that hat? What are they called? And where do I get one? 5.11 don't carry them.
ANy help at all would be appreciated. Thanks

Dude, 5.11 has a huge marketing machine that generates a crap-ton of pics for their ads. Yes, a scan or a link would help.

hahahaha...sorry. I didn't realise how vague I was being. The stupid thing is i work in a music store and get tons of vague question asked to me ALL the time, and all I can do is shake my head.
I'll try and get a picture up in the next little bit.

The closest I can come without scanning the actual photo is an afghan "pakol" type hat.

only the one I was referring to had less of a "roll" around the brim.

ok i scanned the advertisment. See the dude in the middle.....is that a pakol he's wearing? To me it looks smaller than a pakol, and the hat band looks alot flater. Is it the same as the hat in the first picture i posted or different?

Its a pakol for sure. The bands can be rolled up or down.

Lupo,
thanks for the confirmation.

as an aside, I find it interesting that troops often appropriate the dress of those they fight against. Like shemaghs for instance. I guess if it works, then wear it.

ODA teams and other units with relaxed uniform/grooming standards often adopt the dress of the indigenous peoples they're working with to better blend in and bond with them.

Pakols were worn by the northern aliance (among other people in afghanistan) who the nato forces worked with at the begining of the war. The Taliban typically wore black robes and black turbans. The first pic you posted is of the Norther Alliance leader , he was assassinated something like a week or 2 before 9/11 by AQ terrorists possing as a camera crew.
