Extreme Conditions

Hi,

Me, my brother and a friend are kinda new to airsoft and we where playing today and the temperature was really low, around -20 c, and we were having some problems with your guns, There mid-range priced guns so i know their not the best quality, but could the weather have had an affect on the battery or springs. Any knowledge on this topic is greatly aprecciated.

Thanks.

Yes your battery will work sub par when it is cold and the mech boxs in our AEGs can bust in the cold... anything under -8 is just to cold to play in in my opinion

Cold weather will have an effect on AEGs, ranging from batteries to contraction of the metal of the mechbox shell, metal body (if applicable), etc. From what I've been told (can't confiorm myself, just passing on info), cold also makes the mechbox more brittle and prone to cracking. It's recommended to only use semi-auto and not to dry fire at all.

its not recommanded to play in temps lower than -10c. Mechbox will shatter, battery will have weak perfomance and hop up will be much less effective due to the fact that the rubber gets stiffer thust making it less affective. Gas weapon will have crappy performances, valve will freeze open and the palctic will get brittle

Stock guns

If you are going to do cold weather ops..

use only stock guns... fire semi only.. have a full stock with battery inside.. and keep it under your arm when on the move... to shelter it from the cold.

expect poor performance overall...

Springer shotties rule in the cold...

we've played at -16 at FTF... every gun that went down was upgraded ... everyone that worked for the full 6 hour game... was stock TM.. most of them AKs
