Custom 1911 GBB
Hi all;
I picked up a copy of 'Custom Combat Handguns' today to oggle the beautiful custom 1911s. However, one in particular stood out more than any other. The Reeder Custom Black Widow. I can't find a really good photo online, but here is what info the company can provide. I am so stricken by this 1911 that I want to make my own in airsoft form. So far, I've decided on the TM Hi-Capa 5.1 as my base. Its reliable, economic, and well-respected. It also fits the lines of the Black Widow as close as possible. Now what I'm wondering is would it be possible to sculpt and attach that spike on the frame myself? Also, I'll need a metal slide without trade marks of any kind, and only the forward-slanting groves at the rear. The third modification is a more rounded hammer. Can one be bought easily, or can I melt and remold the TM one? After that, a nice pair of STI grips. Will real-steel fit? Finally comes the engraving. You can't see in that tiny crappy photo, but there is a large spider web near the front, a smaller one at the rear, and the words "Black Widow" in italic script filled with gold on the slide. To finish it all off, a black widow spider, also filled with gold. Anyway, I think its absolutely beautiful and want one. Thanks in advance for any help!
