Retailer Review - Garlic City Airsoft (4.5/5)
I purchased a JB Unicorn "Olympic Arms M4 Kurz" conversion kit from Garlic City Airsoft, located in Gilroy, California.
http://www.garliccityairsoft.com/pro...roducts_id=295 I will review this kit at a later date. However, let me note that I feel these conversion kits are worth every penny and will be buying more JBU products. I had been looking for this particular kit for ages, and my usual vendors were perpetually sold out. In doing a Google search, I found what I was looking for at Garlic City Airsoft (www.garliccityairsoft.com). I noticed that they took PayPal as payment, so I signed up for a user account, added my part to my cart, and completed the transaction. Then I sat back and waited. The next day, I received an email from GCA saying my order was processing, and a tracking number would be sent at a later time. Then, nothing. I waited a few weeks, with no word. On the one-month anniversary of my order, I dropped GCA an email inquiring about my part. The owner, Vincent, replied immediately and apologized for not sending the tracking number - apparently my part was backordered, but was expected to come in in two days (Wednesday). Vincent stated he would send it out as soon as it arrived. And just as promised, at 10:30 on Friday morning, it arrived at my house via FedEx Express. The box the conversion kit is packed in itself is tiny. However, that small box containing my conversion kit was enveloped by a packing box at least 4 times its size, and crammed with foam packing peanuts. The packing is so solid and thorough that I have no doubt that my package would survive a drop of several stories intact. Insider, the goods were well packaged and included a couple of unadvertised freebees: a mounting tool and an allen key, both steel. My ratings are as follows: Price: 4/5 Not the best, but certainly fair and reasonable. The same part retails on Redwolf for $90, but the increased shipping cost from Hong Kong (compared to the US) would narrow the savings of buying from HK even more. Product: 5/5 Item was exactly as advertised. Hell, it even came with good quality unadvertised tools as a bonus! Packaging: 5/5 I can find no fault in packing - it's outstanding. If anything ever arrives damaged from GCA, I would look at the shipper, not the packager at GCA, as the source of the problem. Service: 4/5 With the exception of the initial loss of contact, the transaction went very smoothly and communication was quick and convenient. I realized later that GCA has a tool built into their shopping cart that allows you to track your order - very handy. Overall Verdict: 4.5/5 I consider myself to have some pretty high standards - I'm a skeptic by nature and not easy to impress. However, I am also a loyal customer and great customer service is more important to me than saving every single penny possible; I'll pay a premium for great customer service. I will definitely do business with GCA again, and not just for things I can't find elsewhere.
