I had a PDI 150% in my ICS, and it just hurt the mech so bad to the ears, hated it, put it in my TM SR, and also a rough, hard sound..

It is now in my spare parts drawer and I have a Systema M120 in her now, runs smooth and hard. I recomend it over ANY PDI..

Are you wanting high velocity, high rof, or best of both ?

I've installed a couple dozen Prometheus springs (100-120) and they are well worth the cash, easy to find, and easier to install in a mechbox. Plus the rate of fire is on the high side of decent.

All right, just made the decision. The parts list:

Prometheus M120SP Spring:
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=579

Systema Area 1000 Metal Spring guide without Bearings:
http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...pring%20Guides

Systema Silent Head Set for Gearbox Ver. 2
http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...%20Head%20Sets

These should be just right?

Because I just read here that

http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&ct=res...Rlqdsfau_ZPShA

His spring wouldn't compress enough for it to fire because both the bearing spring guide and bearing piston head was compressing it too much or something like that. Just trying to avoid any trouble =).

Going to order these soon then.

Nope. Not by far.

Canadian retail prices:

$25 - Spring
$25 - Metal Bushings
$27 - Systema v2 Spring Guide
$65 - Systema Silent Head Set
====
$142 - Total

versus:

$430 - Systema Complete Mechbox, M150

This is untrue, correct?
It's mostly true... UNLESS you switch to a torque up gear set. A sub-C pack will crank it fine, but if you stick to standard torque gears, you risk stripping the initial 3-4 teeth of your piston faster in full-auto fire, as well as putting extra stress on your motor.

That Area 1000 metal spring guide you chose DOESN'T have bearings. It just has a nylon bushing. I would highly recommend the Systema bearing spring guide over the Area1000 version.

His setup is messed up, then, because I've installed a bearing piston head (Systema silent head set) with springs of various brands (TONS of Prometheus springs) combined with a bearing spring guide and have NEVER had an issue. It may be a different story if you're using a stock Marui piston head, which has a nut that is about twice the thickness of a piston head's bearings.
