Which is the better SPR Kit?
I'm looking to build an SPR from scratch.
Which front end kit is better, King Arms or G&P? The King Arms front end is about $30 cheaper. http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...IS%20and%20RAS http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=13043 Are both of these kits complete front end kits? Will I need to buy any extra parts to get them to fit onto a G&P metal body? Thanks! |

The G&P is more realistic than the King Arms one. The King Arms one is finished a little bit better.
But none of them come with the OPS SPR suppressor. If you want that, you'd have to get the VFC/GB-Tech kit. And yes, these are complete kits. You should be able to just fit them on to any body. Oh, one thing you might want to have to make installation easier is a delta ring tool such as the one made by G&P, or if you can afford it, the Guarder Armourer's Wrench. Or if you're lucky, you can find a real armorer's wrench used for cheap.

Question
Thanks for the reply!
What do you mean when you say that the G&P is more realistic? Like is it heavier? Are the trademarks better? |

Yeah, better trademarks. And the G&P is more of a matte charcoal finish, whereas the King Arms one is so dark black that it's almost shiny.

Thanks
One more question:
Which inner barrel length do you use for an SPR? it says 460mm on the site. The closest one is probably an AK length barrel at 455mm. Can you use something a bit longer than 460mm and still have it covered by the flash hider? like a G3SG1 barrel that's 469mm. |

I don't know about those kits you're looking at, but the GB-Tech kit can just fit up to 475mm of inner barrel just inside the inner barrel, behind the holes of the flash hider. From directly in front, you may be able to see the end of the inner barrel just hiding inside.
If you don't mind the inner barrel going through the flash hider (and appearing inside the holes/notches in the sides of the flash hider), you can fit a 509mm inner barrel all the way up to the tip of the flash hider. Again, I have no idea what the dimensions of the KA or G&P kits are. Anyways, I just run a 590mm inner barrel all the way through mine and out the tip - covered with the suppressor. |

You don't get barrel suck from such a long inner barrel? I was told once its a general rule to stay 550mm and under.

Why would they make them if you can't use them? 590mm works with type-0 cylinders, you need a bore-up kit to go up to 650mm.

Ah, okay, I was told its highly recommended to use a bore-up kit for anything over 550mm...now that I know this its time to stick a silencer on my M14 so I can get a 590mm 6.03mm tightbore

btw, I did have a bore-up kit in my SPR, along with an M130 spring to properly power through that 590mm 6.03mm tightbore. good luck getting a 590mm inner barrel for your M14. I haven't seen any in production from the big manufacturers (KM, Prometheus, Systema). It's possible that PDI or some other smaller barrel manufacturer makes them. |
