The real WW2

I found this piece of footage at youtube.
March 6, 1945.
The 3rd Armoured attacks Cologne.
The cameraman was named Jim Bates who served with this division.

Screw Saving Private Ryan and all that fantasy, THIS is What Happened, a piece of history.

A lot of Germans meet their end here.....
I would say its not Work Safe.

Great find! When I was watching the video the only thing that kept going through my mind was " look at all the hiding spots for snipers". Just think of that for a second, and then put yourself in their position 60 years ago. Scary!

There was a sniper in that video.
Its called a Panther V.

Look at 2:10 in the video, just below the cathedral a sherman is driving forward.
Ahead of that sherman another sherman is being knocked out by a Panther which is up the street.

In 2:21 you can BARELY make out a tank in the distance just below the cathedral.
The Pershing you see in the video flanks the Panther puts couple of AP trough buildings to put the Panther out. It doesnt work so they drive in for the kill.

That is being shown at the end of the video

That cathedral is just amazing. It's a shame that buildings like that were destroyed in the war. I know this is off topic but I could just imagine what that would look like in person.

At 2:30 and 2:50 what kind of tank is that? The others were shermans right?

Köln is definitely a great and nice city, The cathedral is wonderful, very very gigantic. That's crazy I walked in these streets, it's hard to believe 62 years ago, it was the place of intense fights
