Well if you're just transporting handguns there's some 'aluminum' (Just looks like aluminum, there's cardboard underneath it) at your local Walmart/Zellers store. They sell them as tool cases. I got a nice set of two (one large, one attaché-sized small) for about $30.

I believe that SIR here carries pelican cases, and they run in the $300+ range and are like safes with handles...
I also have a case like MuffinMan described, only mine is plastic with a brushed aluminum finish as opposed to carboard. I got mine at Canadian tire for about $30. There's a really old thread on here that gets comments added to it every once in a while about cases like you're referring to.

Not considering the hassles, you're not saving that much by buying overseas, rightfully so why they choose to do business with business owners generally (that's the "vibe" I get from most of the wholesalers). Not to mention, unlike retail, they won't hold your hand to guide you through the steps of importing. There's a reason I haven't had much sleep lately...

Bass Pro shop at Vaughn has a nice variety.

place in grande prairie called barton's. they are hunting and fishing retailer and they have 2 models of those. one is thin and would hold 2 guns. the other is thicker and will hold 2 large guns. price on small was 69 and price on large was 89 i think. aluminum with combo locks and adjustable straps (4). much nicer than the plastic crappola.
