Hi,
My apologies if this has already been answered, I tried looking around but couldn't find a solution. Also I want to avoid short-stroking it if possible. I have a G&P M4 which I've been running for a while now. I had the spring swapped out for a M90 for CQB which seems to have caused an issue. The second half of the piston has plastic teeth and its slowly being stripped by the metal gear. (plastic shavings found) However, the teeth on the piston are still there but you can visually tell they are wearing out. I believe the problem might be that the swapped spring may be too weak. This slowed down the return stroke of piston to the point where the metal gear is engaging the piston before the piston has fully returned to resting position. At this point I'm just trying to find a solution before something breaks. Some information: The gun still fires and the trigger response is ok. However, consistency is poor with 1 stray every 4-5 shots. Currently running 7.4v lipo and chronos 330fps on .2g. Potential solutions (?) - running weaker battery - M100 spring - convert to HPA I'm wondering if anybody has any advice before I aimlessly start buying things to fix it. Thank you in advance |

G&P piston is cheap and also a short stroke. You can tell by the cylinder itself how it is bore up in the back end and has less teeth. Like 10 I think. Normal for the teeth to wear out on a plastic piston over time.

Probably worth checking your AOE (angle of engagement) as that can also contributed to early wear.

I think the piston has a tooth missing. I can confirm this theory though for the AOE if that’s the problem
