Here's a little project I did last summer for my GHK. Not really a painted gun post, but they go in my gun so I'd say it counts.

GHK AK-74 magazines come stock with this HORRID orange colour.

I wanted them to look more like Bakelite.

(They look a little dark due to crappy lighting.)

I scratched the shells with sandpaper, put a light coat of Kona stain and then after put a coat of Red Mahogany. Last I covered in a clearcoat.

This pattern is my creation and it features shapes taken from naturally eroded bodies of water located primarily in Canada.

The circular shape for instance is from a lake in Northern Quebec which is one of the largest meteor impact craters on the planet.
