[Tutorial] TM M870 Gas Spewing Out

Hey all, long time no see.

I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before. On the TM M870 when I insert the gas reservoir into the shot gun all the gas gets released out the front barrel. No detours. No Passing go to collect $100. It simply releases all the gas and my tank is cold and empty.

I've taken the firing hammer off the release valve and it still appears to be releasing all the gas even when it's not being engaged. Is it because a spring is weak inside the valve or something else?

Help? :? :? :?

Try a new tank?

Replace the O-Rings?

Valve needs tightening?

The previous owner replaced the o-ring for the expansion chamber and this started happening.

How do I tighten the valve? The damn thing goes both ways.

Thanks danke. It says no permission to see that forum. I'll see if I can make an account or something.

I tried clicking on the link you posted but after making an account it still says I do not have permission...

For some reason I didn't get an activation email. Anyway, I'm going to see if I can find a workaround to the site. Couldn't get a confirmation email but I could still log in strange enough.

Edit: looks like Arnie's doesn't like Hotmail either. Accessing now.

Edit Edit: Sorry for the double post. I have isolated the problem to a leaky o-ring due to insufficient hardness.
If anyone has recommendations on where to find harder o-rings suitable please let me know...

I have found a promising solution: https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=m2Zs9KdDa7I

Apparently all the o-rings have been slipping due to this similar problem... Will report on the results.

Hey so I've got some good news. I've done the mod 2 times and it seems to have worked both times. As a result I documented my findings and made a YouTube tutorial.

I hope this will help anyone else who has a similar problem:

For anyone else who has this problem feel free to ask.
