OB —> CB Magazine Conversion.

First off; sorry for spamming ASC with my tech questions.
Secondly; I'm confident I'll get numerous replies telling me to move up to OB. My wallet being what it is (deep and empty) let's assume that'll not happen any time soon.
I'd like to get more mags for my We Scar-L CB rifle. I often see OB mags for sale, either here in the classifieds, or on the varied online airsoft sites.
I've also seen CB to OB magazine kits that include naught but replacement mag feed lips and the gas port (dunno the right term), basically the top end replaced on a magazine.
So my question is, could I realistically purchase an OB magazine for my Scar, and separately purchase a replacement CB repair kit, and replace the OB top end with CB?
For one, I suppose that a couple extra mags and mag kits for my current Scar would cost less than replacing my Scar or upgrading to OB standards.
For another, with my current Scar layout (hopeful contender to the title in ASC's Abomination thread), I'd love to see a 20-round short M16-VN mag in it, and they seem to all be OB.

Well, I assume that naturally, someone has swapped a bunch of CB mags to OB, so they'd have those parts kicking around for a few bucks.

Anyone have the CLOSED bolt mag parts hanging around for a few bucks? I'm on the CB bandwagon too.
