Madbull Daniel Defense RIS II - extra hardware?
This has bothered me for some time but I thought I'd put it out there to see if anybody else has had this issue.
When you buy a Madbull DD MK18/M4A1 RIS II, what do you do with the extra hardware? Is it supposed to serve a purpose? Did I miss something? I'm referring specifically to the 4 washers and 2 screws pictured here (on the right) |

I can't say that I recall getting those part (on the right) in the MB DD rails I've gotten...they look like parts from another rail system.
You might want to ask Jugglez...he's seen all their rails and may know off hand. |

The madbull i've purchased only came with clear plastic washers - never the parts on the right and i've bought that rail twice now - both from Jugglez.

The plastic washers just go under the screws so you can get them snug and keep them from coming loose without having to over torque them (the rail is aluminum, the screws are steel: there's potential for damage).
The 2 screws, black spacers and metal tabs (right in picture) are supposed to mount on the front interior (first screw hole) and swivel down when the bottom rail is removed: it serves as a front attachment point for a non-QD M203, analogous to this part: Obviously this only comes with the 12.5 inch RIS II as the front M203 mount clears the shorter 10" one. A picture of it installed:

Thank you Drake!
I agree that I don't see it on EVERY DD RIS II rail I have gotten, curiously only on some...Drake's explanation makes perfect sense. |
