Food for gamers!
Hi everyone,
I almost posted this question in Jimski's thread but since the situation is completely different I started my own thread When I host games, I always include water and softdrinks so that players can cool down. I want to offer a simple snack so that they can eat too but I don't want to pickup wrappers all over the field. What would you offer that is good for the soul and the body, doesn't come individually wrapped and can be stored for the next game? I taught about peanuts, but grimmy hands and allergies.... Cookies maybe? Energy bars come wrapped individually and the wrappers are so light the wind carries them everywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks, 5kull |

Could do GORP with those little scoops to stop the grubby kids from reaching in
Also toss some hand sanitizer on the table to help keep sickness from spreading too quick Or you could do GORP with those little dixie cups an people could just use them to scoop up some. Just be sure to have a garbage close by and let everyone know that they have to toss their garbage out.

"bb bukakke" KING!

it shouldn't be hard to find small brown paper bags somewhere dollar store or grocery store or whatever.. fill them with bulk barn trailmix or nuts or whathave you and if the bag gets left on the field, it's paper, it'll go away in a few weeks.
That's probably the best in terms of cost to you and environment. |

Cookies.
Can't remember the brand name, but there's a kind of boxed cookies that cost a buck and are tasty as hell. Get 'em at Metro and such.

Here's what you do:
You make giant Jos Louis(s)... and then you serve it like slices of cake Vachon will be rolling in their graves c: In all seriousness, the game organizers around here bring lots of gatorade and fruit/Power bars to events

I'd offer advice. Tell the players they're not in grade school and to police their garbage. There shouldn't be wrappers on the field for any reason.

There is those 2 bite brownies and they come in a plastic Tupperware-ish and I think they would enjoy and good idea with the cups and hand sanitizer.

How much sand CAN you fit in your vagina!?
|
Trail mix with beef jerky and m&ms. That's great for energy, and easy to carry. Still though; you'll need to put it in something.
Another option is Bannock (aboriginal baked good). It's a sweet bread. It's relatively cheap to make in large quantities, healthy, and good for energy. They are usually in the shape of buns, or scones. Add small amounts of chocolate, berries, and nuts for energy. It fits easily into a pouch, and can be eaten relatively quick. Here's a site recipe: http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/6919/bannock

if you care about players with allergies, then I dont suggest packing stuff in paper bags. I have serious nuts/peanuts allergies myself, and I wont eat anything unless there's an ingredient label on it. At the very least, keep the label somewhere to show to anyone that ask.
Other than that, jerky and dry fruits are great. |
