375 FPS with what weight BB? If its .25s or heavier it would be a bit hot. ~365 FPS with .25 would be comaparable to 400 w/ .2s

And by the way, 400 FPS is a limit, not a goal.

yup. Sometimes they chrono with .12s thats why you see can soft crappy tire guns boasting 350FPS! put a .25 in there and its like 120fps. Oh and check with your field what the limit is. We are 400 for rifles, 450 for DMR locked semi and 500 for bolt action MED and side arm. I know alot of other fields don't have that rule so again check with your home field.

Most hosts will have a chrony during their events. Probably a couple of your local players do have one as well.

Arguably the best airsoft chronograph out there;
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1181 A worthwhile investment if you plan on being involved in the sport for a while. |

my team bought the x-cortech... it's worth the investment if a bunch of friends play and you all chip in... especially if you plan to do a lot of gun work yourself. If not, just borrow one or go to a game to get it done.

One problem with the Xcortech's is that I find it's not always calibrated properly and can be up to 15 FPS off what the actual speed of the BB is. I don't know if you can calibrate it though.
I know for example that one of the local clubs chronos is about 10 FPS off what the actual speed your gun is firing (reads me at 403 FPS when I know for a fact that it shoots at about 394). Also as far as the Madbulls go, for some reason their readings *can* get a bit wonky I believe people have said it relates to having low battery in the unit.

oddly enough, I read about a similar inconsistency in madbulls.. I just hope people take it into account when chornoing at fields vs at home. I chronoed 407 on an older style chrono but I think I was lower on the xcortech.

Well, there is no option to calibrate Madbull so if its "off", its broken.
![]() I had mine for over a year now, still using same battery and found no issues. |

The other thing is when too many BB shavings/pieces get inside. Occasionally I have to open it up and dump out the dust/crap that accumulates inside, and wipe/wash off the emitters and sensors. If you don't it will read wrong, like last time it did that, it was reading 40 or 50fps too low. |
