Custom/homemade Combat shirt preview

I started replacing my standard camouflage jackets with combat shirts recently and ever since I dislike wearing the remaining jackets. I decided I would convert the jackets to combat shirts rather than getting rid of them. I decided to start my project with my DCU jacket. The donor shirt will be a sand colored Under Armour tactical heat gear series tshirt and I also purchased a tan 7" zipper for the neck. I plan to relocate the jackets chest pockets to the shoulder of the jacket mounted at an angle. Finally I will remove all of the buttons and replace them with tan velcro for fasteners and identifcation mounting on the shoulders.

I plan to use my existing combat shirts to make a pattern. I'm thinking the Cadpat TW will be the closest match to my donor items that I have available.

This is what I have so far layed out

If anyone has done a similiar project I would appreciate any help or advice you could offer me. I have a few concerns I want to get more information on before I tackle this project. My biggest worry is that once I cut the stretchy under armour shirt it will begin to frey making it impossible to sew to the DCU jacket. Thanks for looking and if you have any advice, please respond!

Hey Conker if im not mistaken you are really big on the USMC gear. I was curious if you knew of any decent MARPAT woodland combat shirts? I was able to get my hands on the MARPAT desert FROG from a former Marine, but im having no luck tracking down the woodland FROG. Do you know any decent knock offs?
