Backpack for gaming use

Hello!

I played recently at a field where it was required that opfor stage in the field. What I am looking for is instead of humping my bigass 3 day assault pack with all my non-game stuff in it plus bb's etc across the field, I'd like a smaller backpack that can remove the shoulder straps and attach directly to the plate carrier.

Any suggestions? Only criterion is hydration compatible and tan/atacs in color.

Thanks in advance.

Hey dude. Go on Ebay and search "assault pack". You will find all kinds of them that vary in sizes for really decent prices as well!

Assault Pack

Atacs pack

I like a lot the format of the Eagle Yote pack.

There are affordable replicas of it by TMC and Pantac and/or Flyye.

This pack is my go to pack for what youve described. Small when its empty, expands to a decent size if needed. Condor stuff isnt great, but I've put over 35lbs in there for extended periods with no sign of seams/straps coming loose. Voodoo makes a version of it as do half a dozen other companies (Maxpedition has a nice one IIRC). Can get it cheaper if you go for the Tan version instead of ATACs. Catch is it wont mount to your PC. IMO thats better however, as you can access your pack without removing your 2nd line kit.

Camelbak HAWG 500 works good, can get it in Coyote Brown. Not designed to be attached to a plate carrier, but if you are creative with zip ties you can do it. Price is good too, total for the HAWG with shipping from the US was $137.

I wouldn't get anything that attaches to the plate carrier, cuz then you're stuck with it 100% of the time (unless you ditch your vest).

Based on the description of the situation you experienced it just sounds like you need a 2nd, small format assault pack. Leave the non-game stuff in one, game the other.

You can find good deals on LBT and Eagle packs if you dig around; buying a cheap pack defeats the purpose if its not comfortable and limits your ability to carry stuff/use it.

+1 on the Condor pack, it'll be enough for use, just don't expect it to last if you going to wear it diving and rolling around but it'd be good for those few matches a year when you carry allot more than normal.

anyone have a recommendation for a pack that could carry a p90 safely, but at the same time be small and light enough to lug around on the field?

In longer milsim games I'd like to bring my rifle and p90 onto the field and need a way to carry it around without it dangling around my neck. In every other game, having a pack small enough to carry extra fluids or BBs, etc onto the field would be nice.

I figured out I can carry a WE KAC PDW (Short version) with the stock folded in the condor compact assault pack.

Most sites offer measurements of the packs pockets. Measure your P90 and then check against the pack on the site.

Just picked up a very good quality day-pack from Amity-Goodwill - $4.99 - in new, unused condition. Aside from the stitched on commercial logo embossed on it (thread-picker will fix that!), I couldn't have done much better, or cheaper, for getting an all-black (atm my preferred gear color for other than the BDU's) pack with plenty of useable pockets/compartments and internal metal stiffener inserts.

Yeah, it ain't Gucci like a proper assault pack would be, but with a little sewing for pocket modification and customization, it'll still be a good solution to the problem of bringing extraneous stuff onto the field when needed.

Never under-estimate the thrift shops!

Edit: turns out it is a Meade backpack - meant for toting around a compact telescope.

MBSS Hydration style packs are P90 fit-able. I haven't tried but I own the pack and have seen P90s in person. Most brands come with a hydration bladder/hose etc. already, which is a plus.

This is the one I have, good quality for a clone. Honestly felt very similar to my Eagle rig.
