Magnets & Motors
Hey,
I was just wondering if anybody had done anything along the lines of taking the magnets out of 1 motor and swapped it into another motor? Basically, my gun came with a shitty stock motor that I have no use for and I have another motor laying around in the house with a stripped pinion gear, rather than change it, I am wondering if I can simply take the magnets out of my stripped extra motor and put them in the other motor. I guess my question is are the magnets in a motor the only thing that determines how much torque a motor has in affecting how efficient it is with an AEG. Thanks in advance. |

Yes it's entirely possible and has been done by numerous techs.
There are some guides and discussions on AirsoftMechanics. |

Can be done, but you might have better results just buying a new motor.
Really helps having the motor entirely balanced and turned, and your spring tensions adjusted as well. |

Can be done, but useless.
You are way better buying a new one or swap the rotor into the good magnets motor.... But for that you need a puller to remove the pinion gear anyways. Basic tools would be a puller, soldering iron, precision caliper and a 1/10 scale RC car motor truer. I only lack the truer, but if you have some other tools (a dremel, some spare motor bearings and a vise works) you can do it the same way. |
