guarder 150% hammer spring (Tm glock 17)
Hi guys! My TM glock 17's slide action was very smooth but after i installed the guarder 150% spring, the slide started to catch on the hammer. Is there anyway to remedy this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks!

First and most important question: Why did you install a 150% hammer spring?

150% Recoil Spring for Marui Glock 17 - YouTube
Watched that vid before I bought my TM Glock 17, just in case I chose to upgrade it. Hope it helps. |

It did help Thanks Cadpat. The guy in the vid mentions how the hammer spring is actually NOT NEEDED and that the stock spring is enough to run green gas.

This might be older knowledge that pertains to older generations of guns but I was always under the impression that a harder (or rather what's marketed as an "enhanced") hammer spring would be more "consistent" in hitting the knocker that hits the valve on the mag letting it open up for a similar amount of time each and every shot.
I've always heard that using duster gas without an upgraded hammer spring it's fine but once you introduce gasses under higher pressure (eg. Propane/Green/Top/Red gas) especially in the summer, that's when you need an enhanced hammer spring to keep it consistent. Anyways, that's the extent of my knowledge on the subject of the hammer spring in a GBB. PS: As for the upgraded recoil spring, it will make the slide return faster, AFAIK this raises gas efficiency slightly and is supposedly a "necessary" upgrade when you upgrade to metal slides.

I'm not sure what the problem is, however if this helps at all, I've also heard that it is better to use an enhanced hammer spring with higher pressure gases. I'm not sure if you have an enhanced recoil spring yet, however if you don't I would recommend that you get one as it gives you a faster and crisper recoil in my opinion.

I've ended up upgraded hammer spring in all 3 of my TM Glock(26, 17 and 18) as all in the beginning seems to run fine but eventually when you get the pressure up enough(doesn't take much) they all start to light strike.... |

The Tokyo Marui Glock series is particularly prone to light strikes when using propane. In my experience, it's highly recommended to upgrade to a stronger hammer spring from the start.

Seeing from Spartans other posts.
He has upgraded his slide to metal. So upgrading the recoil spring and hammer spring as said above is important. |

I've already upgraded the recoil spring. I wanted to keep the guarder 150% hammer spring but the action was just too stiff. I'm still trying to find a way to fix that problem. Last edited by spartan117; January 5th, 2012 at 14:08.. |

The Guns Modify Zero Hammer is great at reducing restriction on the forward cycle of the slide. You didn't mention on which portion of the stroke the slide was catching, but if it's the forward stroke, this product will solve your issue.

I do believe its the forward stroke (when the slide goes back into battery) the bearing is contacting the bottom of the blowback unit a bit harder than when the stock hammer spring was installed. |
