PTT/CVC helmet headset compat.
I was just wondering if it was at all possible to run CVC helmet comm's systems with a PTT and regular radio. I was thinking of buying this http://www.ebay.com/itm/CVC-Combat-V...#ht_500wt_1202 and I hope I can use it.

Yes is it possible - but considering that you would have to either customer fabricate the PTT or have one made, you are looking at $200-$300. But since the CVC is used you can't really be sure of the condition of the headset. I would recommend either a SOHAH or a converted CVC helmet with a Comtac/Sordin type of headset. Then you can get an actual TP120 connector and up to date hearing/noise canceling.
By the way, depending on where you live in MD, you can come and see a SOHAH in person if you want. |
