need me some goggles
hey guys, I'm in the market for a pair of goggles or mask that's got detachable goggles, the catch is that they have to fit over glasses, a lot of the ones I see might not fit, and without having them right in front of me to try, it makes it difficult to make an informed choice. So any semi blind people out there have recommendations?

Depending on your style of glasses, but I use ESS Pro's with fan.
They fit snug but they work. I also pulled the foam off the top for better ventilation as I sweat like a pig. If those don't fit with your glasses, try Bullet Ant. They were my first pair and fit easily over my glasses. |

Contacts, one-day wear. A 30-day supply is not expensive (~$20, I think, for normal sphericals - not 100% certain as I wear Toric lenses, which are a good deal more expensive). A 30-day supply will last between 5-10 months, depending on how regularly you play. Very convenient as you just toss the lenses once they're done. No cleaning/storage required.
Alternative would be continuous wear contacts - the type you can wear for weeks on end. A little more expensive, but not by much. You can even sleep with them in, which is convenient during those long milsims. Downside is they need to be cleaned/stored once in awhile for about 6-8 hrs to refresh them. |

Seriously Contacts, $20 worth of lenses. Save the money in a long run. I have dry and sensitive eyes (worst case for contacts), I just use eye drops once a while to keep my eyes moist.
If not contacts, then go for the kind that's wired net face mask, those will definitely fit over any glasses.

Depending if your field requires Paintball Goggles or not, is a big factor here as well.

I ordered a set of ess asian fit strikers, since I'm due for a pair of glasses in the next few months, worst case, if they don't fit my current frames, I will pick a set of frames that do fit the goggles, it just delays me a bit for playing.
Now all I need is a pair of boots then I can give gaming a whirl. |
