Ics mp5
So I have an ICS MP5SD6 (the one with the huge silencer) and I am trying to get my friend started on airsoft by selling it to him since I never use it anymore.
I was hoping to help him start upgrading it by first and foremost putting in a longer barrel. The silencer looks to be about 4 inches long (maybe a little more) so I was thinking about helping him pick out a longer Tightbore barrel. Supposedly the stock length is 229 mm so I think somewhere between 310 and 340 mm would be a perfect fit I've been told that when you extend the barrel on an airsoft gun you need to put in a bigger cylinder. Is this accurate? Also, how durable are ICS internals? with a motor upgrade and a more powerful spring will they last? I am hoping to help him get the gun to be pretty good outdoors but also be usable for cqb on rare occasions What internals specifically for the ICS MP5 should be used to get the fps up to around 380? And will it be able to compete with the vast array of M4's and Ak's out there As always, thanks for putting up with my insatiable curiosity and Thanks for the help

You dont need a bigger cylinder. Just swap out the barrel and you are good to go. I have the exact same gun as you. As for ICS internals......i wouldnt rely on them too much. My gearbox cracked towards the front and the tappet plate died. But the Spring guide (it has ball bearing stock), piston and the gears are okay.
As for upgrades, I used a mix of stuff to upgrade it and so far they all work. So you dont need to get ICS OEM parts. Hope this helps. And if you have other questions you can PM me; i can give you the list of stuff i modified.
