Can't do math

TM Type 89 Magazines
I was wondering, since the Type 89 takes M16 magazines and TM says that their Type 89 rifle magazines do not work on the M16. I was wondering if anyone tried it to see if its true that they wont work?

here's a review from arnies

I saw that before posting, but I was just asking wondering if anyone on the board has tried it and saw why they don't fit.
