The "screw on" part of RIS accessories
Basically, I'm trying to attach something to my rifle, and it's got an RIS rail, right? Problem is, the object itself doesn't have that screw on RIS bit. What would I type in on a retailer website to find that particular part for sale? I've tried searching around mounts section a bit, didn't help. My only other option seems to be tape or something.

Just be extrememly descriptive in what it is you are trying to do. Here are the possibilities from what I've gathered: -You need a screw to attach the rail -The thing you are trying to attach doesn't have the tightening screw -The object (flshlight, laser, bipod, etc) you have has an area where you can screw something in and you want to have that attached to a rail -You need the screw holes to be put onto the gun (similar to the post below) Sorry just confused a bit.. =p

I'm assuming you want to attach your ris to your gun? I think you need to drill/tap some holes

Yeah, we really have no idea what you're talking about. More information or a picture of what you're talking about would help.

Are you looking for a mount?
This has a "screw on RIS bit".

I'm trying to attach an 870 I've taken the stock off of to my SiG. The 870 doesn't have rails or anything.

That's correct. My rifle has a rail, but the shotgun doesn't. So I was wondering what the specific part is called that you usually screw on to clamp together two RIS compatible objects. I need one of those to drill into the shotgun.

Just spoke to a friend of mine who did something similar and said you'll have a hard time getting it together, and said if you were looking for a one piece attachment it will be near impossible to find. It's almost easier just to buy a shotgun attachment for your gun pre built.... BUT... he did pull it off. It's a hack job he did, and it's looks ok... and you can barely tell it's a hack job until you were close enough to examine the gun. Here is a condensed conversation I've gathered from him about it.
Just installed a rail system onto his shotgun. Using the proper shotgun rail kit is recommended as it is a lot cleaner looking and you don't have to worry about the alignment off the bat. Installing your own rail kit is fairly simple aside from making sure the alignment is perfect. Once you got your rail system on the shotgun you just need one more piece. Get some rail coupler attachment similar to the one in the picture below, and there is your system. Make sure both ends can attach to both ends of the gun though. The one in the picture is for a smaller attachment, but you get what I'm trying to say. http://tacticaltrainingsolutions.com.../mnt-996-m.jpg AR-15 Flat Top Adaptor Mount (MNT-996T) I told my friend to post the links for the materials he bought to make his work on here if he still has them.

If you want a shotgun on your rail, why don't you just get an m203?
I also think walmart has a shotgun rail thing for like 40$ |
