full stock help

I have had 0 experience with full stocks on guns so this might be a very simple fix to an issue.

I have an ICS M16 full stock with mounting screw BUT all the receivers I have tried to mount this to have been a no go.

The screw is not long enough to reach the mechbox to secure it.

So my questions are;

1.Will ICS stocks only fit on ICS receivers
2.Am I missing something that might need to get to make this work (other then the stock itself, the screw it came with, the a lower)
3.Is it just that I need a longer screw and if so where can you get these.

Oh and the screw seems to only reach about an inch into the back of the receiver tube that the old buffer tube was mounted on.

You will need another screw as ics stock are not compatible with other make.
Whats the lenght of the screw you have now? Measured from bellow the head; to the tips of the screw? I might have some in my stash...

9 and 1/4 inches is the current screw that I have

I'm no familliar with ICS, but is the rear of your receiver short type? (Type B)



Maybe shortening that part would make the screw sit closer to the center of the receiver.

ICS stocks screw into the rear post directly. Since the split mechbox contains the spring guide (where you usually screw the stock), you can't have the gun split and have the screw on it.

The detachable rear post has threads at the end to attach stocks. For example, a LE or Crane stock for ICS will have a 1" screw instead of 3-4" for regular AEGs.

You will need a longer screw, there is not any other solution unfortunately.

Check your gun's schematics. You'll have the screw code. (Example M3,8) Then order it either on ebay or your local store.
