Fixed blade care instructions
Hi, I've recently purchaced a esee (rat) 1095 steel fixed blade.
would it be possible for you guys to give me some advise to keep it from rusting. best kind of oil, maintenance...

What condition are you keeping the knife in? If polished and shiny, I like to rub in a bit of mineral oil. I haven't tried it with something retaining a bit of patina though.

Gun oil works well, it'll keep the surface from rusting. I have an expensive high carbon steel axe, hand forged, that I rub with gun oil every couple months (depending on usage of course) and it hasn't gotten a spot of rust on it all year (and word is this axe will rust just by looking at it!).
