I don't know a lot about pistols... but why are the compensator vents aimed downward?

The "compensator" on a USP match is nothing more than a stylish 2 piece barrel weight that makes it look awesome. The weight probably does aid in reducing muzzle rise to some capacity but it's a pretty bolt on more than anything.

You should invest in the SD slide without the cheap white trade....you know you want to.....

Or I could invest $350.00 into an RA-Tech CNC steel slide and barrel set later this month

The only thing I have against those is you are going to have trouble finding matching rate recoil spring.....

so you cant really use the stock sys7 recoil spring for it? what happens if you do use the stock one? just been watching those videos from ra-tech on youtube...it seems like the recoil is alot 'heavier'? but i think they were using the stock spring..

The steel slide is a lot heavier than the stock metal slide, or the SD aluminum slide. The blow-back will be a lot stronger with steel, but it'll be a lot slower to return to battery. Not that you can't just use it like that, for me it needs to have snappy return. The upgraded spring in the market are meant to use with aluminum slide....steel needs something stronger...

So does it actually do a somewhat effective job of this? I was thinking of picking up a Sys 7 USP Match myself - only for the longer barrel and muzzle weight. If one or both don't do all that much for the performance of the USP, it probably isn't worth it for me to buy one for tuning.

In the airsoft world I'm going to say not really. There isn't much recoil at all in the first place with an airsoft USP, and secondly the muzzle weight itself is only made out of heavyweight plastic and not metal like the real one so it's not providing you with a significant downward force to begin with. But the longer barrel, weighted mag well, unique look, and ambidextrous controls is more than enough of a reason to get one.
