LCT ak 47 wood kit
Hi guys, I received my LCT Ak 47 wood kit with my G&P Ak 47 body set. I installed them all on my CYMA AKM. Since I never found wood kit for the CYMA AKM model, and since in Canada you can't really choose what model you want (I would have bought a CM048, not a CM036) I had to switch the body to fit a wood kit on it.
The LCT AK 47 cost 105us on WGCshop. The color is very nice, it smeel good and is nice to the touch but it is a real pain in the as* to fit. Everything almost fit directly but in the same times, nothing fit completly. I had to sand almost every edges of every parts. The stock fit directly but is off on the upper part when it's connecting to the receiver. It does not wooble at all, it hold firm. My AKM screws aren't good for the G&P receiver, the head is popping out and they don't hold well. The but stock close with screws. The inside of the stock is 99.5% too small for my stock 8.4v battery. I had to remove the cable with the fuse and forced everything it. Almost not fit. The grip hold well but require a bit of sanding. The G&P steel magazine catch also require material removal to fit. The down part of the handgard require some sanding since the piece of wood that connect to the front end hole is too large. The upper handguard require sanding too. The result is good, solide since there is absolutly no play anywhere with right sanding. I wish the stock would fit better. Any advices welcome YouTube - CYMA Ak-47 with LCT wood kit and G&P body set Last edited by Sim123456; May 2nd, 2009 at 12:15.. |

Looks pretty sharp.
If you think modding any wood is a bitch, try real AK wood, now that's a pain! . Congrats on the wood mod job, looks nice and clean to boot.

Thank you. I though that since it was a new wood kit on the market, tolerance would be better ^^
I'm not good enough to work the wood of a real AK. This is far beyond my capacities lol |

I just picked up one of these kits and am also having trouble fitting it to my CA ak47. The screws for the stock don't seem long enough to get good thread. What screws did you use?
