tru TC, but the rest of the gun is VERY solid. If you had a steel machined extractor and better quality shells (easy and quick to make on a lathe + add some co2 grade orings) It actually is a VERY good gun.
If i had access to a steel extractor and good shells, I would have never let it go. Keep in mind, im a quality whore, nothing i own is TM quality or less, so for me to say this about a clone is a BIG DEAL for me.

I had one once..
Adjust the hop-up by flipping up the rear sight.
To make a custom more accurate hop-up and ONE piece barrel can be accomplished with a keen mechanical aptitude and lots of patience. -I had one drawn up but, since I sold mine I didnt decide to keep it..sry If you reload with the muzzle pointed down its less likely to jam. File down/smothen out the gouge marks in the shells as they become weathered from use, it helps keep the shittier ones cycling. The biggest performance inhibitor is air leaks. Its a better re-enactor functional prop, than a game ready piece. Sell your soul for a tanaka, you'll like that much better! |

+1 on the Tanaka. The gun rocks out loud. Ask Lawdog how i pegged his knee with iron sights at like 100ft with that gun and while wearing a full face mask at Flagraiders.

In the end of these problems for potential buyers who want k98 here's my recommandation:
Are you going to skirmish with it? Yes -> Tanaka No -> Yugo M24 Mauser 7.92X57mm (firearm) Are you going to shoot someone with it and expect they come out relatively unharm? Yes ->Tanaka No -> Yugo M24 Mauser 7.92X57mm (firearm) Do you have a firearm license? PAL is sufficicent Yes -> Yugo M24 Mauser 7.92X57mm (firearm) No -> Tanaka Are you willing to pay big bucks for a k98? Yes -> Tanaka Maybe ->RC (Russian Captured) Mauser k98 7.92X57mm No -> Yugo M24 Mauser 7.92X57mm (firearm) Here's the price list for those who don't know: D-Boys k98: $375-425 Tanaka: $1000 RC Mauser k98: $600-1000 Yugo Mauser:$350 sry gotta say this. Back on topic. Shells will dent really easily. and apparantly the real 7.92X57 shell casing is more solid than the D-Boys one..conversion is gonna be near impossible. Shell extractor is crap, it wont always eject, basically when you recharge the gun, pull the bolt back half way, if no shell is coming up, push it all the way in like you would to close, and let it loose as the spring would push it back. Let it slide back to 1/2 way, see if its out, if not repeat. (some shell will take 10 times to get it out) as for the piece holding the bolt, email RSOV they can sell replacement for $6, I purchase it before from them. Finally, the shell needs to be lube or it will jam, use silicon grease, lithium grease works too. Appply enough to get the slipperly feeling, but not visable. |

either become friends with a machinist, hang it up for looks or lose it. Those are really your options.

no, this is the shell jamming/extracting/ejecting issue, done 20 cycles without a hitch now, the hopup seems to be fixing itself...
