Ingram/Cobray M11-A1 real "fake" supressor
I have found some SMG part suppliers in the United States who offer "fake" real steel supressors. Particularly the dual chamber parkerized version for the MAC10 / MAC11.
Does anyone have any experience ordering these successfully? Are they considered a "banned" importation item to Canada? Last edited by Ratters; September 9th, 2009 at 02:25.. Reason: info change |

Suppressors are a hit-or-miss thing with CBSA. I had an M4 front end with supressor that went through customs, was opened and inspected, and forwarded on to me. Lots of people successfully import supressors, because it's quite obvious that these lightweight, foam-filled fakes are only that - fakes.
Likewise, many get seized. And if it's a shell of a real supressor that has the possibility of being refitted to work as a supressor, I'm sure it would get seized in a heartbeat.

Real supressor shell
Yeah, I'm guessing it's a real steel shell that I found advertised. It's fully Parkerized and I don't believe they would take the time to do that with any old "Fake" can.
I'll wait for the proper KSC or KWA supressor or should I say "Barrel extension" to come up in the classifieds. |

Mainly because an airsoft suppressor with the foam rings can be VERY EASILY turned into a real suppressor (there are many posts about this on American Airsoft forums). |

KSC M11-A1 supressor
Yeah, I'm gonna keep my eye open on asc and op-for classifieds. Sooner or later one will pop up. The really cool thing is that real steel body pins, tactical grips, extended mag releases etc. are less expensive than some of the airsoft peices.
Did you know that you can put a M4 stock on a MAC10/11? |

Exactly why i said "Most the time, CBSA agents are the last people to learn they're rules." they don't even know wtf they are doing and what they are supposed to let in. BUT fight it and it would eventually get to you as it is legal.

M11 supressor
Well, I've bought myself some time away from my own impatience ; ) I found a large nut w/course thread that fits the M11-A1 barrel threads. I used my gemtech M4 silencer. The nice thing about the Gemtech is I can put the nut and washer inside the threaded adaptor, snug it up, thread it on the M11 and voila!
I also made a neoprene buffer that reduces the bolt slamming into the rear of the frame. It has also increased the rate of fire. This could be the next CQB sneak-up-on-'em, let-'em-poop-their-pants-gun! |
