DH PRC radio replica issues
I found some issues on my DH radio and I cannot tell You guys that I am plenty satisfied.
The plastic is very thin and break so easily Look at this hole in the battery compartment... they cutted so bad that panel :-( That button seems so weakly First attempt I installed the long antenna and that's happened... do they use good glue? And the buttons... they seems so fake the short antenna is made using many thermo tubes Overall, it works for gaming as I previous said. But is really weakly, fragile. my poor 160 bucks :-((

yea fester i have to agree with you
they should have used a sparten prc 148 dummy to make the radio insted of the fragile toy soldier radio dummy i have 2 of the radios and 1 doest work unless i turn the squelch off completly they do have a real good transmission range tho over a mile in a city area a few fixes that may help the toy soldier blade antenna you need to use a good epoxy i used loctite 5 min epoxy. The glue they use is pretty weak the epoxy seems to do the job tho. also you need to get a rubber washer for the antenna base to keep the antenna from moving you can get them in radio shack to keep the handset from pulling out while using it i used a small section of soft plastic from a walkway light stand and epoxyed it to the radio you can get those lights from any hardwere store these allow you to actully attact the connector to the radio im looking forward to the Sparten airsfoft replicas will more then likely drop these on ebay when the spartens come out |
