I.T.W.D. and how to make one

(see below for photo's) I just made a homemade Improvised Tripwire Device for airsofting. The instructions are below but MAKE AT YOUR ON RISK. These are cheap effective Short-Range Tripwire Grenades that are made from "Party Poppers" (A.K.A. Twist Pop confetti can's) Key ring, and a Screw. Tools needed are; Cordless Drill with small drill bits (just enough to fit your key ring) Square Head Screw Driver, Duck tape/electric tape (optional), pliers, fishing line (recommend but you can use string or rope and knife. First the fun part set off the "party Poppers" after you clean up the mess twist the bottom off (or pull whatever ) the guts of it should fall out you need to keep all of the parts besides the actual confetti. Now take you knife and cut off the steam of the twisty thingy and cut off the grove on the inside of the body, put the twisty thingy on the bottom of the popper after you cut the steams off and drill two holes in line with each other that goes through both the twisty thingy and the body, now onto screwing in the screw you can use a drill bit or screw driver I don’t care but I used a drill bit and put the screw though the two holes supporting the bottom. Then take the cup part of it and place it in the body with base attached and make it so the side that you can see into the cup to put the bb’s into it then drill a hole all the way through the cup and the base but be sure not to put the hole to high then the plastic could break and the cup will fly out when the pin is in it and if you put it too low then there will be a lot of presser on the holes possibly causing them to break, basically it’s trial and error and they come in a pack of three you should get it after awhile. Then make a pin out of you key ring by bending it with the pliers. Now take out the cup and put the spring in then push the cup down and slid the pin in and put the bb’s in the cup tie the trip wire and viola! You have an Airsoft I.T.W.D. they are reusable but after a while they’ll break but there only a dollar for three. Their Max range I could get out of them was about 10 feet they are effective enough to wipe out a squad of 3.

Uploading More photo's...BTW put the tape around the cup thingy to reinforce the holes becasue it tends to break easily.

Thats a nifty idea man! When I read 'improvised' and 'trip wire' I was a little uneasy, and now I am extatic! Going to start tinkering at 4 when done work. And maybe after perfecting this we could try some pvc pipe sizes to get more of an effect?

Great Idea! I'll grab some pipe and try it out but most likely not for a while so if you've done it let me know how it turns out! An Hour From now I'm trying them in their second combat situation against a squad that's unaware of them even exciting, so hopefully i get some easy kills. BTW if you don't have fishing wire use some string just put the string in the mud, even though 100 yards of 7 LBS test fishing wire is like $10 at wal-mart or Canadian tire

Once again it proved it's effectiveness, one more member of the opposing team set it off because they went to a very predictable spot but i showed up early to plant my tripwire and got em' out.
