Physical geometry and placement of the LED in relation to the lens, as well as the applied prisms and reflection angles. The short sight radius is why typical reflex sights have such bad parallax. The shorter the sight radius, the worse the parallax.
Bushnell/EOtech Holosights work on a completely different technology that no airsoft clone has successfully replicated to date. The difference, is that reflex sights work by reflecting the visible LED off an internal surface. Thus, the placement of the dot is IN the optic, whereas Bushnell/EOTech Holosight laser technology focuses the projection of the reticule 30 feet-infinity in front of the optic. As such, you only have to put the sight up in to your sight plane and focus on your target. The optic does the rest to superimpose a crystal clear (laser crisp? arr arr arrrr) dot on to your target. When you have a sight radius of 30 feet versus 1.5 inches, the reduction in parallax is quite significant.
Anyways, this is all jibber jabber - until you actually take a look through a REAL Holosight, you will never understand how cool it is, and then all these words that I'm saying will finally make sense. All of a sudden, your ONLY following goal, is to acquire a real Holosight...
