Lipo buffer tube question

I am looking for some info on putting my aeg battery into the buffer tube. Currently my gun is rear wired through the buffer tube so thats fine as it is, what I am unsure about is the difference between buffer tubes. The buffer tubes sold that are meant to have space for a lipo battery come with a shorter screw. Does that mean the receiver has to match the buffer tube space? I have seen receivers with shorter stubs in the back. Pic for reference.

My actual question; do i have to trim the end of my reciever? Want to know before i get out a hacksaw. (pic of the part that looks like it might be cut off)

you should chop that part down to fit a tube battery. Just leave about 1-2 inch. Test by putting on the buffer tube and see if there is any slack or the tube is loose. then just take off a bit more.

More research brought up more questions. Has anyone ever had experience with "mini t" connectors. They looks like deans connectors but smaller. Secondly, with the lipo and battery alarm in the buffer tube, and the cap on, can you still hear the alarm going off?

1) mini deans are just that, mini deans. I have then but never used them. Using the standard size one will reduce resistance and provide a better current.
2) you should still be able to hear it because your head will be right next to it.
